"[The] staff have been a pleasure to work with. They have been happy to involve us when delivering activities and have been popular with our students. A number of young people have discovered a new found enthusiasm and talent for art. Others have improved their social skills and ability to work collaboratively. "
Helen Purves, SENCO, Malet Lambert School, Hull.
"In June 2006, a group of year 9 pupils from Endeavour High School were selected to participate in a Drama Course, organised by Creative Connexions. The course was based at Hessle Road Network.
Throughout the 12 weeks, pupils were accompanied by a member of staff from Endeavour High School.
The feedback I received was consistently good with respect to the quality of the course content and the learning experience delivered to the pupils.
The pupils responded positively to the range of activities offered and engaged with personnel from Creative Connexions. They benefited greatly from being given the opportunity to contribute and participate in a public performance at the end of the 12 week course. The group performed confidently and it was evident that the social interaction between the group was supportive.
Four members of the group are currently studying for a BTEC in Drama.
The music course delivered to a group of Year 9 and 11 pupils in November and December 2006 was an equally successful and worthwhile project.
All pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the mornings spent at Kingston Youth Centre. It was evident that the group developed greater confidence and felt comfortable challenging their individual skills and abilities, together with exploring and experimenting with new and exciting ideas. The project provided the pupils with an opportunity to learn in a new environment and to benefit from establishing relationships with the course leaders.
It would be my hope that some of the young people will feel motivated to pursue and develop their individual interests in Music and/or Drama."

"I started off playing guitar and learning to play the drums, and studied music theory as well. It's the best thing that's happened in my life - it's changed it completely. It showed me what I wanted to do in life, because I was just working in hopeless jobs and I had no idea what I wanted to do. Now I can actually see a career and I’m at college studying music. I wouldn't have been able to do it without the course. It also really brought out my confidence because I was quite a shy person before."
Stacey, Scunthorpe (16-18 Music course).
