Over the last four years Creative Connexions has been directly involved in some of the most important research projects affecting young people in our region; including the Every Child Matters Green Paper, CWDC - What Makes a Good Children's And Young Peoples Worker, Youth Housing and Homelessness, English Heritage - Hull’s Past, Hull Drug Action Team - Substance Misuse, North Lincolnshire YOT - Life of a YO, North East Lincolnshire Council - East Marsh Views and CWDC Practitioner Led Research. These are just a few of the many research and consultation projects that we have conducted and a snapshot of the partners and organisations who have benefited from our highly skilled creative practitioners in developing research and consultation projects that engage young people and uncover their honest views and opinions.
Involving young people through quality youth work and creative practice is key to a projects success. We have found that by offering a range of creative techniques within our research projects we make it accessible and a worthwhile experience for the young people involved. Many of the projects have adopted film as the main tool for collection of data and presentation, which is backed up by a written report. We are always looking at new ways of consulting with young people and endeavour to involve young people in the process wherever possible. Our highly skilled officers have the experience of working with young people to get them engaged in the process and to allow them to share their views and stories.
If you are thinking of conducting a research/consultation project or want to more fully involve young people in decision-making and explore ways of using creativity within this process, then please get in contact to find out how we can support you.
