Creative Connexions | we think you're great

Information For Partners

Introduction

Creative Connexions has developed a range of creative activity specially designed to work within the schools curriculum. We can offer bespoke packages that work with your learners to increase their confidence, self-esteem and communication skills.

We have worked with a range of schools across the Humber on many different topics and tackled many different issues that schools have requested. We also have the experience of working with varying abilities with specialist knowledge of behavioural and emotional issues and learners with special educational needs.

Information for partners

Learners will also have access to wider creative opportunities, linking in partner agencies such as BBC Blast in showcasing and furthering their creative talent.

Accreditation

All activity delivered by the Creative Connexions team is able to be accredited whether this is through your school's existing accreditation framework or using our own in house accreditation facility which utilises ASDAN and the Arts Council - Arts Award. Most activity is challenge based which lends its self to any framework developing key skills within the creative activity.

Links with the curriculum

All creative Connexions activity can be designed to directly link with your curriculum and work to enhance your current activity and learning objectives. Before any activity is delivered we would meet with you to discuss your requirements and how best we can make the project meet your needs.

Health and Safety/ Child Protection/ Risk Assessment

Creative Connexions as part of Connexions Humber fully accepts its responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other associated legislation. All activity so far as is reasonably and practicable is conducted to ensure the health and safety of its employees, directors, clients, visitors and contractors and others affected by its activities.

All activity will be risk assessed and copies will be made available to the school. This is also checked and overseen by our in house Health and Safety Officer who possesses the NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.

It is the policy of Connexions Humber to safeguard the welfare of all young people with whom we work by protecting them from physical, sexual and emotional harm and from neglect.

All delivery staff have up to date child protection training and in the case of a child protection issue staff will be supported by the local area child protection co-ordinator. All staff have access to and work within the local LSCB Guidelines and Procedures.

Staffing

In Most cases we recommend a maximum of a one to fifteen ratio when working creatively with young people. However this is dependent on the nature of the group and the appropriate levels would be agreed before any activity takes place. If the group you have exceeds fifteen we would then have to look at increasing the number of Creative Development Officers or support staff.

We also recommend support staff to work with the group, we normally find this works best when a member of staff from the school is assigned to the project and can work with the Creative Development Officer. If the school is unable to supply a support member of staff we are able to supply support staff but with an additional cost.

Equipment

All Creative Connexions equipment is of the highest standard and is made freely available when booking activity with us. We have also in past projects used school's equipment in additions to ours when working with larger groups. Any use of your school's equipment would be planned and agreed before any activity takes place.
